Your Divine Healing Path is an 8 month exploration of the healing path we co-design with the Divine. We'll start at the beginning with Creation and Origin stories -- which one will do you claim? We'll reflect on Images of the Divine -- ones that invite vitality instead of obedience. We will learn Divination practices to better understand ourselves, and we will work with spiritual assessment and communication tools to provide more effective care with others. Creative writing and art projects, visits to spiritual centers, and group discussion create a special community in this course.
In Your Divine Healing Path Program we will focus on the student connecting with and defining his/her own Divinity. This program is also designed to help the student in healing old wounds from past life or current life past experiences which may not have been validating in how one sees God, connects with God and communicates with God. In this program, participants will explore the nature of spirit as it relates to the World's Religions and various healing traditions including Buddhism, Christianity, Islam, Judaism, and other Earth-based practices. Participants will say "Hello" to and explore one's personal understanding of the Divine. Over the 8-month course, students will attend worship services within a variety of faith traditions and spiritual communities. Class sessions include creative exercises to guide each participant into discovering and articulating one's own concept of faith, spirituality and the Divine.
Some may choose to add 4 months of training in the Wise Healer Within Program which focuses on expanding the student's healing skills to include many remote healing protocols, One Command healing and exploration of the Shamanic way. This programs is designed to support the student in healing his/herself while learning to heal others.
SESSION ONE: Who / What is God? Images of the Divine
In Session One, participants will explore their earliest concepts and images of God (Mystery, Divinity). Drawing upon both found images and those from multiple faith traditions, we will consider how our image(s) of Divinity change (and continue to evolve) as we grow along our spiritual path. Together, we will discuss how the images we carry can help/hinder/otherwise in the work we do with and for others.
SESSION TWO: Theology 101: Themes Across Traditions
In Session Two, participants will briefly present what they have observed/learned so far from the spiritual center site visits. Then, we will investigate a Theology 101, “glossary of terms.” We will explore what these words mean and - using a broad brushstroke, examine the over-arching themes in multiple Faith Traditions, as well as some guiding principles to inform ministerial practices and spiritual care suggestions, when caring for and healing individuals of other faiths.
SESSION THREE: Sacred Texts in the World Religions…and Life!
In Session Three, participants will present research on assigned religion. Then, combining what we have learned so far, and using a technique called “Theological Reflection,” we will explore a selection of passages from Sacred Texts from various World Religions as well as contemporary authors, stories and cultural references that become modern day “Teachings.” We will consider tools for possible interpretation and contemporary understanding.
SESSION FOUR: Spiritual Care (& Ministry in Practice) – What Heals?
In Session Four, we will begin to explore spiritual care practice across Traditions by enacting several role plays designed for our collective practice and learning. What heals?
We will begin an initial study of ritual. What defines “ritual”? How does it work? Bring your ideas and experiences: What are your favorite rituals? What makes them effective? When you have you been part of a ritual that feels “flat," or lacks the spirit intended? Where, today, are we needing rites of passage? How can we create time for these transitions and/or bring healing more directly to the parts of being human that are so often minimized or hidden?
SESSION FIVE: The Role of Liturgy & Creativity – Making Meaningful Rituals
In Session Five, using what we’ve learned about ritual and healing, thus far, each participant will present a ceremony/ritual they have created (Wedding, Memorial for those in the Ministerial track and Blessing or Healing, etc.). Together, we will explore ways to improve upon each ritual and consider what sort of history supports (or erodes?) the ceremony or ritual.
SESSION SIX: The Multi-religious Experience – How Might it Heal Self & Others?
In Session Six, we will discuss our personal theologies (formed, transforming, in formation) and consider how they inform, support, and hinder our best intentions to provide spiritual care. We will explore questions about our own Spiritual Wounding, Resistance and Fears, paying special attention to how Trauma and Grief can influence how we heal. Exploring various components of ritual (design and practice), we will do our best to answer the question above: can an interfaith orientation offer opportunities for healing? When I am present for my own discomfort first, in what ways can I be more present for the distress of others?
SESSION SEVEN: Communicating Over the Fence (Real or Perceived)
Henry Boyle, an Irish politician said, “The most important trip you may take in life is meeting people halfway.” The ways we navigate, negotiate and communicate with one another is at the core of effective ministry. It’s also the part of providing care that can be the most challenging. In session seven, we will explore the practices of mindfulness, Peacemaking circles, and Non-Violent Communication, all of which can be supportive tools for communicating truth, even in difficult and/or emotional situations.
SESSION EIGHT: One for All and All for One: Celebrating our Part in the Whole
In Session Eight, we will share and celebrate (!!) our Theological Statements with one another. Collectively, we will create a closing ritual that celebrates the many faces of the Divine as well as provide a blessing for each of you as continue to grow as Sacred Healers.

In addition students will also attend monthly workshops to learn the duties and responsibilities of being a Minister, including how to create, write and perform interfaith rituals for weddings, memorials, blessings or healings. This program is a requirement for the Spiritual Teacher's Training Program and most of the advanced training programs with Spirit is Calling.
It was exciting and so rewarding to be part of a program that has both the clairvoyant reading and healing skills along with the hands on healing skills. Doing this program really assisted me in moving my spiritual practice to a much fuller experience and personal ownership of my abilities. ~ Diane F. (Vancouver, B.C. ) - online
My absolute most favorite part of modules 1 & 2 was writing my personal theological statement. This was so helpful with enabling me to get clear on my personal theology and I am now better able to communicate it to others. I continue to update this document to this day. ~Trish M. (Navarre, Fl ) - online
I like the interfaith aspect, and I also like that there is room for us to explore our own spiritual path and to observe the different spiritual paths of others. Everyone "sees" God differently and taking it outside of the Christian perspective allows for much more room to explore our perception of God with no parameters. For example, I loved being able to explore magic within a spiritual setting. I had never done that before. Magic is a way of working with energy that I have always had affinity with since I was a young child. It was a relief to look at it and to talk about it. ~Ryan E. (Sacramento, CA)
Clairvoyant reading sacred texts and calling back my past life information are tools I use frequently in my day to day life. And having the permission to look at how to create and play with new tools inspired by other traditions and the world around me is an incredible gift. I have some great information that allows me to create incredible experiences now, in this lifetime. For the rest of my life! ~ Laura G (Berkeley, CA)
During the different modules I was able to explore my spiritual path in greater depth through the connection I have with the instructors and the other participants. ~Diane F. (Vancouver B.C. - online)
The assignments and the clinics helped me to integrate and use what I was learning in a practical and fulfilling way. I had an amazing time and thoroughly enjoyed myself. It has gone by so quickly. A special thank you to Carmen, teacher extraordinaire. It was worth every minute! ~Diane F. (Vancouver, B.C.) - online
Thanks for creating this program. SHM was the answer to my mock-up for the program I was searching for. ~Ryan E. (Sacramento, CA)
100% of students who responded to the 2013 survey about their experience said that they would recommend the Sacred Healing Ministry Program to their friends.
- For all online attendance, it is the full responsibility of the attendee/student to have the right equipment and internet high speed connection to attend any of SIC activities.
- Tablets and iPhones are not recommended to attend classes online as they are not stable enough. Drops are very common and audio can be of poor quality.
- Recommended lap tops and other more stable computers as well as headsets with mike option.
- The teachers will not hold back a class should an attendee experience technical difficulties. For first time attendees, SIC offers a free tutorial. Contact Carmen for more information.
- If is the student's responsibility to create a home sanctuary with no distractions. Attending classes in a car, coffee shop or other public places is not suitable for online classes.
- Should the attendee/student's lack of good equipment or grounded sanctuary create disturbance for the other students, the attendee/student will see his/her mike privilege taken away, or if on Skype, will get dropped out of the class.
- We are committed to creating a sanctuary for all to find their own space and honor other's finding their own space as well.
