Contribution: $250, deduct $50 if registered by July 8, 2019
Taught by Christy Carrico and Carmen Figueras
This class is open to everyone who has had a psychic meditation class.
Reading the Tarot is a wonderful mix of intuition and symbolism. It’s also a fun way to use and validate a person’s natural clairvoyant ability to read through the medium of the cards. It can be a surprisingly in-depth way of looking into an issue or topic, and at the same time do it in a bit of a light-hearted way.
The techniques and insights presented in this class can apply to any of the vast array of tarot cards you can find in most bookstore. For this class, we will use the Waite Card Deck which has lots of beautiful symbols and is a good historic one for everyone to use, whether beginners or more experienced readers.
Along with exploring the symbolism of the individual cards, you will also get to play with and use several different card layouts, including the 10 card Celtic Cross spread, the 7-card horseshoe spread and the Goals Mockups spread developed for Spirit is Calling’s yearly Hawaii Creativity and Goals Retreats.
Each week you will get a chance to learn about the different traditional symbols of the cards and study the meanings of the major and minor arcana. This includes the 4 different suits of the minor arcana: the swords, the wands, the cups and the pentacles (coins).
You will also get to give and receive Tarot readings each week, and get some insight on past lives as a Tarot reader.
Week One: Tarot and your intuition. For a psychic, using your intuition is what makes doing tarot readings so dynamic. There is a kind of mystical power that is contained in the special placement of a specific card in tarot, and trusting your own intuitive read of that card is the most true and insightful aspect of doing a reading. This first week you will play with the feel of your deck, and learn a simple 7 card horseshoe spread layout of the cards and the meaning of each card placement in that layout. You will also get to give and receive a tarot reading with one of your class peers.
Week Two: The Major Arcana. This week we’ll explore the beauty and symbolize of the 21 major arcana cards. You’ll get to feel the energy of each card through your hand chakras and receive a clairvoyant reading on your personal relationship to the cards and any past lives as a tarot reader. Peer Tarot readings using the major arcana will give you a chance to play with and learn about with the energy of these cards.
Week Three: The Minor Arcana. We will explore the symbolism and meaning of 2 of the suits: the Pentacles (coins) and the Cups. There are many interpretations of what these suits symbolize. One interpretation for psychics in particular is that the Pentacles represent the material: $$ and material havingness and the Cups represent Spirit. Peer Readings included.
Week Four: The Minor Arcana, part 2. We will explore the symbolism and meaning of the remaining 2 suits: The Wands and the Swords. Clairvoyantly, you can look at them and see in what ways they have meaning for you as well as what tradition says. Peer Readings included.
Offered online and at a Berkeley location

Rt. Rev Christy Carrico
Christy spent her early years on the Eastern Shore of Maryland and Virginia. From around the age of 16, she developed a burning desire to find other people who where like her - people who experienced reality above and beyond what was acknowledged by others. An ability to read the energies of others, to tell when those around her lied as well as talking to entities who ‘weren’t there’; these were common experiences for her that had no name, except perhaps ‘over active imagination’.
After just 2 years at Ohio University, she was chosen to be a part of a University botany expedition to Mexico and Central America. This trip also brought her to Northern California, and here she found an exciting place where she finally felt at home, so in 1973 she moved to the San Francisco Bay Area. By 1975 she had discovered the Berkeley Psychic Institute, and there she had her first aura reading. It was a true spiritual revelation. Sharing the spiritual truths discovered in that first reading though teaching, healing and reading others quickly become her life’s passion.
For over 30 years, Christy taught Meditation, Healing and Aura Reading to thousands of students at the Berkeley Psychic Institute. For 15 of those years she was the Director of Clairvoyant Training and Aura Reading, overseeing the training of students in the Clairvoyant Training Program throughout 5 locations in Northern California. In 2000, Christy was conferred with the title of Bishop of the Church of Divine Man, the governing spiritual body of the Berkeley Psychic Institute.
