Program Description
A Celebratory Journey of Life and Death
Two of the highest creative moment in one’s life, birth and death. The latter is inevitable part of life.
Story of My Father Passing
As a young child I had horrible nightmare about death. The missing piece at the time for me in my young brain I saw death as the end of me, my parents. I did not understand then that the body dies, in the same way it is birthed, but the spirit lives on. Growing up I was not exposed to death that much, a couple of family friends, a kid at school. Nobody that I was close to, except for one of our family friends that I adored. The loss was devastating, I did not understand why he left me so soon, I was 12 and he was in his early 30 ‘s. Why? Where did he go? What was happening? Later on as I started my psychic training, I became aware of our duality: Spirit – eternal and body - temporal and things started to make more sense, but I was still disturbed by the process. When my father died 30 years ago, I was so lost. First while going through his process, he was in and out of hospital for 2 ½ years with various heart problems. I live in California, he lived in France. I saw him once a year when I would return for a visit. While he was “dying”, my body was sick the entire time with no real medical reason. In my psychic reading I was told “Your father is dying in your body, that is why your body is sick.” Hum. OK …. But what can I do? My father was a proud and lifelong atheist, however, faced with his mortality for the first time at age 72 (except for a short cold here and there he was never sick) he freaked out in the same way I was freaking out as a kid about death. As an atheist, when the body dies that is it! End of the line. Well that did not sit well with him, so he figured I knew something he did not because of my psychic training and he climbed in my body looking for the answer to: What happen after I die? Many times while he was sick, I thought I was dying, I even had suicidal moments – short lived but still real. My last visit to my parents as I was kissing him good bye and hugging him, we looked at each other in the eyes and we both knew that this was the last time we were to see each other in the body. The grief was immense, like a bottomless pit. I got in my car and burst into tears. Six month later he was dead. Before I knew that he had died at the exact moment of his death I experienced this intense sense of freedom. I realized later that was him leaving his body for good and feeling free. There are so many levels to death; for the person letting go of their body (whether it is a sudden death or a long process) and for the people (family, friends, loved ones) who go on living. |
