Hi Again, these are a bit of confusing times and so I have continued to research hand sanitizers. One of the CDC’s people talked about their lack of recommendations in this area, but what he did say was that it need to be 90% alcohol with some water to activate it, however he would not give an actual amount. Soooo, I’ll tell you what I am doing, and if anyone has better information, please let me know!
isopropyl alcohol is 91% alcohol, so I’m making mine with 90% isopropyl alcohol per 2 oz bottle (a bit less then they recommend) and 10% aloe vera juice or gel along with 15 drops of a combination of lavender and tea tree essential oils, both of which are used to kill germs. Also, from what I understand, your hands should stay wet for about 1 minute to be effective at killing the corona virus.
I applaud New York for making their own for their residents!
Again, if you have better information, please pass it along, I would appreciate it.
In the meanwhile, please, no french kissing strangers and stay healthy and safe!
